FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Choice of suspension could be the most important decision you make when purchasing your camper trailer. It’s vital that you tell us what sort of trips you’re planning and how much weight you’re planning to carry so we can recommend the most suitable suspension for your camper trailer.

Our leaf springs are all Military Style Rebound , we can also fit shock absorbers to stop excessive bouncing.

If it’s serious articulation you’re looking for then perhaps you’ll want Independent Trailing Arm Coil / shock. Also offers 150mm extra ground clearance from that of leaf suspension.

Let us help with your decision.

2./ CUSTOM CAMPER?

You bet! All of our camper trailers are built to your specification, if you want it , we’ll build it. We offer standard packages as well, but we know each customer has different requirements. Our options and tent lists cover most customers requirements, but if it’s not listed please ask and we’ll be only too happy to help. We can build anything!!

3./ HOW LONG DOES THE TENT TAKE TO SET UP?

Our tent kits are Gas Strut assist enabling effortless setup. It takes only 3 minutes to erect the main tent and peg to the ground. Setting up the annexe roof adds another 10 minutes. Our kitchens can be accessed without setting up, so you can stop for a cuppa en route. Our off the back 9 ft tent takes only 2 minutes to erect, great for couples and small families.

4./ DO I NEED BRAKES?

By law you require brakes on all trailers when the Aggregate Trailer Mass exceeds 750kgs. ATM is calculated by adding the tare weight of the trailer to that of your load. It doesn’t take long for it all to start adding up. For example a standard 7x4 work trailer weighs 240kgs, start adding, jockey wheel, corner steadies, water tanks, kitchens, sheet for tool boxes, taller camper sides and your up to 400kg, bolt on a tent kit with decent Aussie made canvas at around 150kg and your up to 550kg already. Now fill up your water tank 90kg, fill 2 x jerry cans 40kg,2 x 4.5kg gas bottles full 15kgs , now we’re up to 695kg and you haven't loaded the tool box or storage compartment !!  We recommend brakes be fitted to all of our camper range. Watch out— By Law tare weights recorded on Trailer Identification plates do not have to include “Bolt on items”, some unscrupulous dealers are selling campers with tare weights reflecting the trailer weight only !!!

5./ WHAT SORT OF COUPLING DO I NEED?

Standard 50mm ball couplings are fitted to our On Road Models. This coupling is suitable for most applications. If you’re planning on tackling some hilly, undulating terrain you may want to consider an off road type coupling. Treg is by far the most recognized brand available for this purpose. It’s reputation is second to none. We’ve trialed a few other brands, but keep coming back to Treg
